The oldest models on this list are the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. These models came out back in September 2018. So, if you have one of these models, you’re still in the game, but just be aware that some features in iOS 19 might not work as well on the older phones.

If this news is right, it will be great for Apple users again! This is the second year in a row that all iPhones will get the major updates. Last year, both iOS 17 and iOS 18 supported the same set of devices. It’s worth mentioning that iOS 17 cut off support for the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

Now, shifting gears a bit, the iPad won’t be as forgiving. Reports say that iPadOS 19 might drop support for the 2019 iPad 7. However, if you have any other iPad that runs on iPadOS 18, you should still get the update to iPadOS 19.

When can you expect to see these updates? Well, beta versions of iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 should show up during WWDC in June 2025. After that, they’re expected to roll out the final versions in September.

While we don’t know all the exciting new features in iOS 19 yet, there are some hints. One rumor is about iOS 19.4 coming out in March 2026. It might improve Siri to be more conversational like ChatGPT. That could make interactions way cooler and more natural!

So, it looks like both iPhones and iPads have some interesting times ahead with these updates. Stay tuned for more news, especially during the next big Apple announcement!
